Online Educational Resources for Kids:

  • Scholastic: Their Learn at Home interface free with full day schedules of didactics and activities.
  • Khan Academy:  Full day schedules of work. Tool for your child to receive personalized help with what they’re learning in school or to learn something completely new
  • Bright Horizons World at Home Children thrive with routine, especially when there is big change around them. We invite you to explore our library of enriching activities from Bright Horizons educators to enhance your child’s learning and engagement.

  • Duolingo App:  Learn a free language for free.  The ultimate goal is to give everyone access to a private tutor experience through technology.  Offers applications on both Apple and Android.
  • Texas Education Agency:  STAAR Released Test Questions
  • Weather Wiz Kids: Weather related information and science experiments
  • Houston Zoo:  Live sessions, Monday – Friday, 11 a.m., on their Facebook page.
  • Smithsonian Virtual Tour: The Smithsonian, National Museum of Natural History virtual tours allow visitors to take self-guided, room-by-room tours of select exhibits and areas within the museum from their desktop or mobile device.

Institutional Resources and Updates

  • The CPRIT website now has a dedicated webpage for information, guidance, and frequently asked questions related to COVID-19’s impact on CPRIT grants.
  • Bright Horizons:  Rice employees can access up to 10 annual days of back-up care services per dependent when regular arrangements fall through. Get immediate access to care supports at subsidized rates; center-based care is $15/child or $25/family; all in-home care is $6/hour. Other benefits, such as
