SUMMARY:IMM Scholars: Introduction to Flow Cytometry Workshop\, Nov. 4\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:Flow cytometry is an essential tool in immunology\, cancer biology\, and many other fields\, enabling researchers to analyze cell populations with high precision. However\, successful experiments depend heavily on careful planning and execution—from thoughtful panel design to rigorous use of controls and proper instrument setup. This workshop is designed to provide participants with a foundational understanding of these critical steps. Attendees will learn how to approach panel design by selecting appropriate markers and fluorophores\, as well as strategies for minimizing spillover and spectral overlap. The session will also highlight the role of proper controls\, including single stains\, FMOs\, and isotypes\, in ensuring reliable data interpretation. Finally\, participants will be guided through instrument setup and compensation\, including setting voltages\, using automated tools\, and performing manual adjustments. At the end of the workshop\, participants will be equipped with practical strategies to design robust flow cytometry experiments and generate high-quality\, reproducible data.

SUMMARY:International AIDS Society: Person-Centered Care Research Collaborative
DESCRIPTION:IAS – the International AIDS Society – is pleased to invite you to the next meeting of the Person-Centred Care Research Collaborative\, titled “Ageing and HIV”. \n\n\n\nThe collaborative convenes researchers\, clients and healthcare providers from around the world to explore evidence on person-centred care (PCC) approaches for people living with HIV or vulnerable to HIV acquisition. \n\n\n\nDuring the meeting\, we encourage you to share any planned or ongoing research that strengthens PCC evidence. The theme of this meeting is: Research to reality – Improving care for older adults living with or affected by HIV. The objectives are to examine the evidence base and identify research gaps in the management of HIV\, non-communicable diseases and other health needs to support the quality of life of the growing cohort of older people living and ageing with HIV. Presenters will provide an overview of the latest context-specific screening tools and effective interventions to delay the onset of\, and treat\, frailty\, non-communicable diseases and cognitive impairment\, including gender-specific considerations. There will also be an opportunity to preview the findings of the Lancet HIV Commission on Ageing and HIV. \n\n\n\nRegister Here \n\n\n\nDate: Thursday\, 20 November 2025 \n\n\n\nTime: 13:00 – 14:30 CET
