DESCRIPTION:Sponsored by the GCC Cancer Therapeutics Training Program. Presented by Brendan Delaney\, Frank & Delaney Immigration Law\, LLC\, and Qiang Hao\, Hao Law\, PC. During this seminar\, you will learn how to successfully pursue your US Visa and Immigration during your postdoc training. It will include but not be limited to self-sponsored J-1 visas (including J1 waivers)\, F1(OPT)\, H-1B/O-1/TN\, and green card. It will also cover what to do before or after your postdoc as you move through your career transition. Speakers will discuss the type of issues that the postdocs face in terms of visa transition and how you can build a CV/Resume for purposes of a self-sponsored application to continue your career development and/or transition to an employment position. They will also review the recent guidance that was published relating to STEM\, how this affects certain visa applications\, and introduce their cases on how to work with visa and immigration lawyers. DESCRIPTION:Presented by the GCC Innovative Drug Discovery and Development Consortia\, we invite you to register for the GCC IDDD Round Table Workshop: How to Rapidly Implement AI/ML in Your Research: From 10K Feet to the Trenches\, presented by Reid Powell\, Institute of Biosciences and Technology\, Texas A&M. The workshop will occur on Thursday\, Dec. 14\, from 3:30 to 6:00 at TMC3 Collaborative Building\, 7255 Helix Park Ave.\, Braeswood Conference Room Level 4\, Houston\, TX\, 77030. Reception from 5-6 pm. There is free parking in the parking lot across from the building\, or you can pay to park in the building’s garage.   \n\n\n\nOnly 30 seats are available\, so register now!  \n\n\n\nThis interactive workshop will convey a basic understanding of the role of machine learning in the drug discovery pipeline. We will cover machine learning methods and best practices that can be flexibly used to address a wide array of drug discovery and biomedical applications. We will additionally cover the computational resources\, including physical infrastructure and software\, that can enable drug discovery researchers with limited coding expertise to implement machine learning analysis. This workshop will conclude with live demonstrations and discussion between computational drug discovery experts and the audience. We encourage attendees to bring a laptop and follow along.
