SUMMARY:Northwell Roybal Call for Proposals: Randomized Clinical Trials on Behavioral Interventions in Aging
DESCRIPTION:Click Here to View Full Opportunity Announcement \n\n\n\nThe Roybal Centers for Translational Research in the Behavioral and Social Sciences of Aging aims to translate and integrate behavioral and social research findings into interventions that improve the lives of people as they are aging and increase institutional capacity to adapt to societal aging. The Roybal Program includes 14 Roybal Centers that address a broad range of themes that aim to tackle the complex challenges of aging\, Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD)\, social health\, and disparities among aging populations. \n\n\n\nEligible applicants may apply to one participating Roybal Center for the 2026 cycle. Each Center has a unique theme with center-specific application criteria; applicants should refer to the center-specific guidance when applying. Applicants must propose a clinical trial that aligns with the Roybal Centers’ key themes\, applies the NIH Stage Model as a conceptual framework\, and clearly articulate a plan for how the trial will progress through the Model. All clinical trials must have adequate statistical power to test mechanism of behavior change and/or efficacy of the intervention. \n\n\n\nKey Dates: Oct. 15\, 2025: LOI DeadlineNov. 12\, 2025: Invitation for Full ProposalsJan. 5\, 2026: Full Proposal DeadlineFeb. 13\, 2026: Funding Decision

SUMMARY:GCC AMR and IDDD Scholars Workshop on Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) of Antimicrobials and Novel Agents for Trainees
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to invite you to register for our upcoming workshop on Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) of Antimicrobials and Novel Agents for Trainees on Sept. 30\, 2025\, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 6500 Main St\, BRC Room 280.  The last day to register is Sept. 24. \n\n\n\nThe workshop will introduce you to the foundational PK/PD principles with a focus on antimicrobial agents\, dose optimization\, and drug development. \n\n\n\nThis workshop introduces trainees to the fundamental principles of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics (PK/PD)\, with a particular emphasis on antimicrobial agents. Participants will learn how PK/PD modeling informs dose selection\, regimen optimization\, and the translation of preclinical findings into clinical trial design. By highlighting the role of PK/PD as a bridge between laboratory research and clinical drug development\, the workshop will illustrate how these principles guide decision-making across the drug development pipeline—from candidate selection to regulatory approval.

SUMMARY:35th Keck Annual Research Conference
DESCRIPTION:Advances in Epigenetics:From Mechanisms to Medicine \n\n\n\nEpigenetic regulation is emerging as a central theme in understanding complex biological processes and disease mechanisms. Epigenetics refers to the study of heritable changes in gene expression that do not involve alterations to the underlying DNA sequence. These changes are often governed by chemicalmodifications\, including DNA methylation and histone modification\, that influence how genes are turned on or off. Epigenetic mechanisms play a critical role in development\, cell differentiation\, and responses to environmental signals. They are increasingly recognized as key contributors to diseases such as cancer\,neurological disorders\, and developmental defects. In this conference\, leading experts will highlight how recent advances in novel sequencing technologies\, computational tool development\, and emerging conceptual frameworks for studying epigenetics are transforming our understanding of gene regulation\, tumor evaluation\, and precision medicine. The meeting will also feature a poster session showcasing outstanding research conducted by predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees from the sixinter-institutional training programs administered by the GCC/Keck Center in the greater Houston area.
