SUMMARY:Achieving Data Quality and Integrity in Maximum Containment Laboratories - Nonclinical Course
DESCRIPTION:FDA-UTMB Collaborative Education Program \n\n\n\n\n\nCourse Format: In-person (at UTMB) or Virtual \n\n\n\nCourse Description: The four and one-half day training program is offered annually utilizing expert faculty from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration\, other government agencies\, academia\, and business and industry. In-person attendees participate in laboratory activities conducted in mock Biosafety Level (BSL) 2\, 3\, and 4 training laboratories to emphasize the differences between biosafety levels and the complexity of conducting laboratory activities in a BSL4 laboratory environment. \n\n\n\nPrerequisite Knowledge: A basic understanding of the FDA Good Laboratory Practice regulations (21 CFR Part 58) is highly recommended. To meet this need\, access to two free online courses will be provided to course attendees. Both courses are submitted for continuing education for quality assurance professionals. The GLP Basic Training course is required for UTMB graduate students seeking academic credit. \n\n\n\nView Course Flyer Here \n\n\n\nClick Here for Graduate Credit Information \n\n\n\nClick Here to Register!

SUMMARY:Single Cell Synergies: Welcoming New Faces to the SCOC Consortium
DESCRIPTION:The Gulf Coast Consortia warmly invites you to a networking event hosted by the Single Cell Omics Consortium (SCOC). This engaging gathering will commence with brief presentations from our consortium members\, setting the stage for an enriching networking session. We particularly encourage new consortium members to prepare a concise 2-minute introduction to share with the group. The SCOC has a diverse group of researchers with shared interests in advancing and applying single-cell omics technologies across a wide spectrum of biological inquiries. Our expertise spans genomics\, bioengineering\, statistics\, computational biology\, and biomedical science. The primary aim of this event is to foster a collaborative environment where faculty members can connect\, explore potential collaborations\, and discover synergistic opportunities. \n\n\n\nDuring registration\, there are two ticket options: either to present a short introduction or to just attend and network. Instructions for the presentation will be included in the registration confirmation. \n\n\n\nPlease note\, the Single Cell Omics Scholars committee is planning a separate event for trainees later in the year.
